Carleton Esports Announces Frostfire 2027 BYOC LAN With $1,000 CAD Prize Pool

Ottawa's gaming scene is heating up. Carleton Esports is bringing back Frostfire for 2027.

The BYOC LAN event drops in January. There's $1,000 CAD on the line. Not life-changing money, but real stakes for local competitors.

What Is Frostfire?

BYOC means Bring Your Own Computer. You haul your rig to the venue. You play on your own setup. It's grassroots esports at its core.

Frostfire has become one of Ottawa's largest gaming events. It's where local talent proves itself. It's where communities form.

Why Local LANs Matter

Big tournaments get all the headlines. But local events build the foundation. They give new players a place to compete without flying across the country.

They're also just fun. There's nothing like gaming in a room full of people who love the same stuff you do.
