ENCE Files for Bankruptcy After Losing €1.6 Million in Two Years

ENCE is done. The Finnish esports organization has filed for bankruptcy after 13 years in Counter-Strike.

The numbers tell the story. ENCE lost €1.6 million over the past two years. That's not sustainable. No org survives that kind of bleeding.

A Legacy That Started Strong

ENCE wasn't always struggling. The org made history at the Katowice 2019 Major. They reached the grand final. The crowd chanted "EZ4ENCE" so loud it became a meme. That moment put Finnish Counter-Strike on the map.

But that was then. The scene has changed. Costs have gone up. Revenue hasn't kept pace.

What Happens Now

The company, officially ENCE eSports Oy, is going through bankruptcy proceedings. Players will need new homes. Staff will need new jobs. Thirteen years of history ends with paperwork and lawyers.

This is the reality of esports in 2026. Orgs that can't find a path to profit don't survive. Passion doesn't pay the bills. Neither do memes.

ENCE joins a growing list of orgs that couldn't make the math work. They won't be the last.
