s1mple Likely Out of Singapore Major After Valve Changes VRS Rules

Bad news for s1mple fans. The CS2 legend is probably sitting out the PGL Singapore Major.

Valve changed its Valve Regional Standings rulebook recently. The new rules make it nearly impossible for s1mple to qualify for the event.

What Are VRS Points?

VRS points determine which teams get into Majors. Teams earn them by competing in Valve-sanctioned events. The system replaced the old RMR format.

For a player to join a new team and compete at a Major, there are strict rules about point transfers and eligibility windows.

Why Can't s1mple Play?

The rule change affects how players can join rosters mid-cycle. s1mple hasn't been on an active roster earning VRS points. Under the new system, that's a problem.

Without enough points tied to an eligible roster, he can't compete. It's that simple.

BC.Game Takes a Different Approach

Meanwhile, another team is trying something bold. BC.Game asked Valve to reset all their VRS points to zero. They want a fresh start.

It's a gamble. If they can't qualify through open brackets, they'll miss Singapore entirely. But sometimes you have to burn it down to build it back up.

What's Next?

s1mple's Major drought continues. The Ukrainian star hasn't competed at the highest level in months. Fans hoping for a comeback will have to wait longer.

Valve hasn't commented on whether exceptions might be made. Don't hold your breath.
