G2 Esports Signs r1nkle, Benches SunPayus After Major Run

G2 Esports just made another big move. SunPayus is out. r1nkle is in.
The Spanish AWPer helped G2 make a solid run at IEM Cologne 2026. Didn't matter. The org still pulled the trigger on benching him.
A Team in Flux
This is part of a larger rebuild. G2 already lost two of the biggest names in CS2. m0NESY and NiKo both left. Now SunPayus joins the bench.
r1nkle comes over from NIP. He's got talent. But stepping into a team mid-rebuild is never easy. The pressure starts day one.
Why Bench SunPayus Now?
The timing is strange. SunPayus just helped the team compete at a Major. Most orgs reward that kind of performance.
G2 clearly sees things differently. They want a specific style. A specific fit. SunPayus wasn't it.
What This Means for G2
The org is betting big on change. New faces. New energy. It's risky. Roster moves this deep can take months to pay off.
Or they never do.
G2 fans have to trust the process. But patience runs thin when you're used to winning.
